Admissions Process

At ISB we are committed to maintaining a low student-to-teacher ratio and a rate of growth that ensures a stable learning environment for our students.  Because of this, many of our classes currently have waiting lists (especially at the Kindergarten and Primary levels). While we do our best to accommodate international families and siblings of current students, even this is not always possible.

Admissions are rolling and priority given to families with a demonstrated need for international education.  We will only consider applications from students planning to stay for three months or more.

You'll find most important information on our website, including an overview of grade levels and fees. We also encourage all prospective families to visit the school during one of our Tour Tuesdays, at 8:30 on the first Tuesday of each month (registration appreciated).  You are welcome to email or call +45 26 32 78 00 with any other questions. 

Once you are ready to apply, please find our online application form here.  As of 1 August 2016, we wil be requiring a one-time, non-refundable application fee of DKK 500 per student.  The fee is payable when the application is sent via Open Apply.  Your child´s application will be considered when the fee has been paid.

After completing the application form, you will be asked to send a questionnaire to the reference of your choice.  This is an opportunity for us to get a sense of your child's learning style and any other information relevant to helping him or her settle in at ISB.

Once these steps have been complete, our admissions team will review the application at its next regularly scheduled meeting, held during the first week of every month. At this point, your child will be admitted, wait-listed or declined. If your child is admitted, you will recieve an email with instructions on how to pay ISB's non-refundable enrollment fee of DKK 3000 per family. You will have ten days to confirm acceptance of the offer by paying the fee.

Please note that only once this fee has been paid is your child's place secured.

Prior to joining the school, Primary and Middle School students are asked to schedule an assessment with our Head of Academic Programme (families not yet in the country can complete the interview via phone or Skype, or upon arrival). The assessment is not an admissions test, but rather intended to support placement in the appropriate grade level.

Leaving the school

Students planning to leave ISB must give notice amounting to 30 days plus the remainder of the current month. This also applies to students leaving at the end of a school year. A de-registration form is available in the office.  Please note that students who leave ISB for an extended period will be asked to pay the enrollment fee again in order to re-enroll.


After completing our online application you will be invited to a placement interview. Read more about our admissions policies here. School fees include compulsory meals. There is free transport from Vejle and Kolding. Students can attend Breakfast Club and After School Club free of charge. Siblings receive a 50% discount.
