The International School of Billund strives to be an open and welcoming community to families from all over the world, and our parents play a crucial part in making that dream a reality.
Parental involvement at ISB comes in many forms. On a formal level, two parents are elected to the School Board and three to Kindergarten Parents’ Committee on an annual basis. Informally, parents are invited to volunteer their time and skills at several school-wide social events and, occasionally, as part of our After School Club programming. And on a philosophical level, we have started a Parents’ University lecture series intended to fuel an ongoing discussion about education, child development and how ISB can position itself as a guiding light for the 21st century.
We also take parent-teacher collaboration very seriously at ISB. In addition to two mandatory parent-teacher conferences, all our teachers offer a classroom open house at the end of each unit, and regular opportunities for one-on-one dialogue.
